About Vets4Pets

We opened Vets4Pets in 2015 to provide a veterinary team dedicated to excellent service. We are the only independent, owner-operated vet clinic in New Plymouth.

 

Vets4Pets is a family-run business - we (Alex and Helen) are partners, clinic-owners and both veterinarians. We have 2 young sons, and a lifestyle-block full of animals - including dogs, cats, lizards, poultry and livestock. 

We started the clinic with only three staff members in 2015, with the aim of providing the community another option for excellent veterinary care. Since this time, the Vets4Pets team has grown to over 25 of us, currently with eight experienced and dedicated veterinarians - Alex, Helen, Craig, Kevin, Jasper, Jiten, Sheelagh and Greig. Within the team there is a huge wealth of knowledge and skills to look after your pets.

We pride ourselves on providing the best possible care to our patients and service for our clients. We offer a range of services, from dealing with medical cases, routine surgeries and daily animal health care, to advanced procedures such as orthopaedic surgery and ultrasonography. We have modern & well-equipped facilities and surgical rooms - with in house blood analysis machines, a digital radiography system (updated new in 2022), dental radiography, an endoscopy unit, and an advanced ultrasound unit (updated new in 2020). In 2018 we became the only clinic in North Taranaki to offer the TPLO cruciate ligament repair technique, a complex surgical technique generally only being offered at specialist vet centres in New Zealand.  

Our team are our greatest asset - we foster a friendly environment where we aim for all to feel welcome and looked after. Our nurses are highly skilled and caring, and reception staff are helpful and empathetic. We always strive for excellent communication with our clients and listening to your needs in a professional and compassionate manner.
